In the national motorcycle sales, Honda has overtaken Yamaha position again. For August, Yamaha still occupied the first position, then in September, Honda regained the top position.
From the monthly AISI wholesales sales data as quoted by Kompas.com, Honda's position, which in the early yeard had lead the market and shifted by Yamaha started from April 2009 and lasted until July. In August, business strategy has done by Honda by accelerating the automatic (skutik) production. The result, PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) as ATPM Honda motorcycles in Indonesia lead a monthly motorcycle market. This achievement continues until September, with total sales of 199,285 units. Meanwhile, total sales of 188,604 units Yamaha (including exports of 700 units).
The total sales of both brands along January through September, Honda regained the leader's position with the acquisition of 1,899,184 units. The Yamaha should be satisfied with the achievement of 1,892,401 units.
"The selling target is not our primary goal. The important thing is customer satisfaction for our products," said Becky Dyonisius as Vice President Director of PT Yamaha Motor Kencana Indonesia (YMKI), as quoted by Kompas.com.
