Yamaha plans to build new factory in Indonesia. The news about the plan to build its own factory comes from the Japanese media, the Nikkei. Yamaha Motor Company reportedly ready to build a third factory in Indonesia with an investment of 10 billion yen fresh.
With that much money Yamaha's capacity will be increased 10 percent from 3.6 million units to nearly 4 million units to reach production capacity of the rivals, Honda has a production capacity of 4 million units.
The third plant will initially produce spare parts for motorcycles that can be converted into plant-enable the assembly. They say the factory will start operating in mid 2012.
"I've heard that too. But the production increase was fair because I think Yamaha's market here is growing. Rather YMKI now become the backbone of the YMC.
