Yamaha makes a shocking decision. This Japanese manufacturer will perform at the four-stroke motorcycle racing Moto3 class in 2012, and they are preparing the project.
Earlier this month, when the pre-season test at Sepang MotoGP, Yamaha reveal what they were doing. To the MCN, Yamaha says that they are developing a concept bike single cylinder four-stroke 250cc capacity, which will replace two-stroke 125cc class next year.
So far, Honda and KTM are already taking part in the class (125cc) and they also are developing their respective projects. However, Yamaha YZ250F precisely busy to send in pursuit engine motocross bike.
Yamaha boss, Masao Furusawa, said: "In terms of cost savings, we want to forget about Moto3. But in terms of improvement and growth of the rider, we need to do something. We want to pursue the competitors, so we're doing something for Moto3."
Furusawa not confirm that Yamaha plans to soon enter the arena Moto3 in 2012. But he added: "We are preparing a machine as well as a complete motor. We have not done testing on the track, but we just did a lot of computer simulations for engine and chassis."
